If you are a resident or foreigner applying for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) from within Australia, this guide explains how to do it. The DTV is open to all eligible applicants of any nationality who wish to process their visa through the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra or Thai Consulate in Sydney.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- You must be enrolled in an soft power activity program in Thailand, for example, Muay Thai training.
- Your DTV application must be submitted from outside Thailand.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- A valid passport or equivalent travel document.

OBTAINING PROOF OF REGISTRATION
- Select your Muay Thai DTV Visa package at Petchnumnoi Muay Thai Gym.
2. After payment, you will receive an official acceptance letter, along with a certificate and confirmation from the Board of Boxing Sport
3. Use this letter to complete your visa application on the official Thai e-Visa portal.
Additional Documents
For applicants with dependents (spouse or children under 20), you will need a marriage certificate for a spouse, birth certificates (or adoption papers) for children, and copies of the primary DTV holder’s passport and DTV approval for dependents.
Notes:
- Health insurance is not mandatory for the DTV.
- Remote freelance work is allowed. However, employment with a Thai company is not permitted.
APPLICATION PROCESS
You must apply online via the e-Visa portal: www.thaievisa.go.th.
Applications are processed electronically:
- Complete the online form.
- Upload your documents.
- Pay the visa fee online.
Important: The embassy does not accept walk-ins or paper submissions for DTV visas.
PROCESSING TIME
Typical processing time is 10 business days once a complete application is submitted. Processing times can be longer during peak seasons, and some complex cases requiring Ministry approval might extend to 4–6 weeks
VISA FEES AND VALIDITY
- The DTV visa fee is 10,000 THB (non-refundable), paid online to the Royal Thai Embassy.

- The DTV allows multiple entries over a 5-year period.
